Benjamin King Money’s Vision for a Greener Future
At DFK Benjamin King Money, BKM Audit Services and BKM Wealth we continuously strive to ensure our business operations are contributing to the preservation of the planet.
We strongly believe it is important to reduce our Carbon Footprint, and we aim to achieve that by utilizing a number of office-wide initiatives, detailed below:
Recycling
We ensure sure all staff are recycling their waste including cans, bottles, cardboard and plastic. We also recycle Used batteries at our local Officeworks.
Lighting
Our office implements the use of LED lighting on both of our floors, which uses 75% less energy than halogen light bulbs and last up to 10 times longer.
Coffee Grounds
The staff and clients enjoy a coffee, resulting in waste of coffee grounds. To ensure we are putting this waste to a sustainable use, some staff members take the grounds home to use on their garden beds.
Printing
We have taken action to have our toner cartridges disposed of in a safe and sustainable way. In terms of paper we incorporate recycled paper for our printing, and any paper waste is destroyed in a secure manner through an offsite disposal service.
Indoor Plants
To increase natural airflow and clean oxygen in our office, we have introduced a number of plants throughout our office on both floors.
Electronic Delivery
We make use of secure electronic delivery services such as DocuSign to electronically send documents to our clients, as well as file digital copies of documents in an electronic database system. These two initiatives on their own have reduced DFKBKM’s amount of paper use significantly over the past few years.
As we grow as a business, we constantly search for ways we can build an environmentally friendly practice.
